9TH YOGA DAY CELEBRATION – JUNE 2023

effectively encapsulating our collective aspiration for ‘
One Earth, One Family, and One Future.'”

Yoga is a practice that has been around for centuries and has gained immense popularity in recent times. It is not just a physical exercise, but a holistic approach to wellness and self-care. Every year, on June 21st, people all over the world come together to celebrate International Yoga Day. This day is dedicated to spreading awareness about the benefits of Yoga and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

9th International Yoga day was celebrated by the students of classes VII to IX, XI and the teachers of VVNKM on 21st June 2023 with great enthusiasm. Principal and Manager  headed the celebration. The function began with Lamp Lighting. The Welcome Address and Introduction of the Chief Guest was given by Controller of examination, Mrs. S.Santhagowri. The Chief guest was felicitated by the Principal .

On Yoga Day, various activities and events  to promote the practice of Yoga sessions were organized, where student can learn different Yoga postures and techniques

Welcome dance was performed by  S.Dhansika, VII B.Speech on the  importance of Yoga  was given by K.Subhasree-VIII A. She explained that regular practice of Yoga will help the students achieve better mental and physical health. Surya Namaskar,Tadasana, Ardhachakrasana,EkaPadaPranamasana, Virabhadrasana,Padmasana, Vajrasana , Shashankasana, Savasana  theseAsanas were performed by the students.

Isha instructor started Yoga demonstrations with few warm up and simple Asanasand nadichuthipranayamawere performed by the students and the teachers enthusiastically and the importance of these Asanas was explained simultaneously by the Isha Instructor.

Chief Guest professed the regular use of meditation in one’s life and told the students about the importance of Yoga and Meditation.He encouraged the students to practice Yoga and meditation on a regular basis for a healthy body and mind. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Academic Head of Social Department. The function was organised by Department of Physical Education along with all the staff memberswho put in a lot of effort to make this function a success.
