A Dance demonstration workshop in collaboration with SPIC MACAY was held on 18/04/2023,
Tuesday @ 10.30 am.
SPIC MACAY is a non-profit organization, which promotes various forms of music and
dance to generate awareness about the country’s cultural traditions amongst the
youth.
Bha meaning emotion (Bhava), Ra meaning music (Raaga) , Ta meaning rhythm (Taal) and Natyam
meaning dance. Thus Bharatanatyam is the dance that encompasses music, rhythm and expression
and strictly adheres to the Natyashastra (the scripture of classical Indian dance).
Program started with invocation by XII Students followed by welcome dance by VII std Student.
Principal had welcomed the gathering. Introduction of SPICMACAY & the Artist was given by our
staff. Chief Guest was honoured by the Correspondent.
A prominent disciple of the legendary Guru K. J. Sarasa, Smt. Srekala Bharath has mesmerized the
audience by the wonderful dance performance. She had interaction with the children and
answered all the questions asked by the young children aptly. Finally vote of thanks was
proposed by one of our faculty.
The session was a successful step taken towards making today’s youth aware of both
indigenous and international culture.
