World Youth Skill Day
15.07.2023 கல்விக்கண் திறந்த காமராஜரின் 120ஆவது பிறந்தநாள் விழா தமிழக அரசின் கல்வி வளர்ச்சி நாளாக கொண்டாடப்படுவது வழக்கம். வே.வ.ந.கி.மு. மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளியில் காமராஜர் பிறந்தநாளை முன்னிட்டு 14.07.23 அன் று விழா சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. விழாவின் முதல் நிகழ்வாக காமராஜர் அவர்களின் திருஉருவ படத்திற்கு முதல்வர் மற்றும் மேலாளர் அவர்களின் கரங்களால் குத்துவிளக்கு ஏற்றி விழா தொடங் கியது. காமராஜரின் சாதனைகளை தமிழ் ஆசிரியர் சுமன் அவர்கள் எடுத்துகூறினார். ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பு மாணவி சஞ்சீவினி கவிதையினால் அவரின் புகழ் பாடினாள். ஒன்பதாம் வகுப்பு மாணவி ப்ரதிக்க்ஷா அவரின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்றை எடுத்துகூறினாள். கையெழுத்துப் போட்டியில் முதல் இடம்பிடித்த மாணவ மாணவிகளுக்கு பரிசு அளிக்கப்பட்டு விழா இனிதே முடிவுற்றது.
Tamilnadu celebrates Birth anniversary of K.Kamaraj (July 15th) as ‘Education Day’ or ‘Education Development Day’. Kamarajar Birthday 2023: Kamarajar or Kumaraswamy Kamarajar was a famous freedom fighter and politician from the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Kamarajar was the second Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and served in this position for 10 years. Kamaraj was born on 15 July 1903 in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu. His initial name was Kamakshi Kumaraswamy Nadar but later he came to be known as K Kamarajar. Kamaraj’s father was a businessman, but his untimely death put his family in trouble. He was known as the ‘King Maker’ in Indian politics. After the death of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal, the concern about the new Prime Minister of India raised then Kamaraj came forward to solve it. After independence, on 13 April 1954, Kamaraj
reluctantly accepted the post of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the state got a leader who was going to take many revolutionary steps for it. Kamaraj made many important decisions for the education sector. He made arrangements that no village should remain without a primary school. He vowed to remove illiteracy and introduced free and compulsory education till class 11th. He came up with a plan to provide ‘mid-day meals’ to poor children in schools. He was known as the ‘Gandhi of the South’. Kamaraj was also posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian award, in 1976. Kamarajar died in Chennai on 2 October 1975.
World Emoji Day 2023
World Emoji Day 2023 was a colorful and expressive celebration at VVNKM SR SEC SCHOOL. With the ongoing daily routine, face masks had become an essential part of our daily lives. To commemorate this special day, students from grade III and IV came together to creatively express their emotions by wearing face masks depicting various emoji’s. The students of our school were transformed into a mini world of emoji’s, with students donning masks featuring happy faces, sad faces, laughing faces, and even goofy faces. Each mask had a unique emoji that reflected the wearer’s chosen emotion
Kargil Vijay Diwas
On the importance of the Kargil Vijay Diwas. The event began inspiring speeches in both Hindi and English, highlighting the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and paying tribute to the valiant soldiers who fought and triumphed in the face of adversity. They expressed their gratitude towards the Indian Army and emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by our soldiers. Furthermore, the students also recited slogans that showcased their patriotic spirit and pride in our armed forces. These slogans were filled with passion and enthusiasm, motivating everyone present to remember the bravery and determination displayed by our soldiers during the Kargil war. Overall, the celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas by our students was a fitting tribute to the brave soldiers who selflessly fought for our nation. It not only instilled a sense of patriotism and gratitude among the students but also served as a reminder of the importance of safeguarding our nation’s sovereignty.
On the 8th death anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the Principal, Manager, HM and other staff members gathered for a special ceremony. As a symbolic gesture, a lamp was lit to honor the memory and legacy of the beloved former President.
The Principal and Manager came forward and collectively lit the lamp, signifying the light of knowledge, inspiration, and wisdom that Dr. Abdul Kalam brought to the world. The lighting of the lamp also represented the illumination of his ideals and teachings, guiding the path of the school community.
While lighting the lamp, a moment of silence was observed, allowing everyone to reflect on Dr. Abdul Kalam’s remarkable life and the impact he had on the nation and its youth. It was a solemn moment of remembrance, where thoughts and fond memories of his contributions filled the hearts of all present.
Following the lamp lighting, the Principal delivered a speech highlighting Dr. Abdul Kalam’s achievements, his dedication to education, and his vision for a prosperous India. They may have emphasized his relentless pursuit of knowledge and his efforts to inspire and motivate the younger generation.

The NATIONAL ORGAN DAY is celebrated on the 27th of November until 2022. In 2023, the day is shifted to August 3rd, commemorating the success of first deceased heart transplant in India on August 3rd, 1994.
It is a national call to enhance awareness about deceased brain stem death and organ donation and to motivate the citizens to donate organs.
In order to create awareness among the young minds, various activities like Role play, speech and slogans were held in the assembly. All the students were made to take pledge “to donate organs and save lives”.
International Youth Day is commemorated every year on 12 August .That sounds like an interesting and educational event! It is wonderful to see Grade 11 students engaging in activities to raise awareness about the importance of International Youth Day. The use of Hindi speech, English speech, and a skit must have made the event diverse and engaging for everyone involved.
A special activity on the theme “Immune Boosters” was conducted for Grade 1, 2, and 5 students. The activity aimed to educate students about the benefits of nutritious food in boosting their immune system.
During the activity, the students were introduced to the concept of immune boosters and the importance of maintaining a healthy diet. They were then given the opportunity to explore and learn how to prepare salads. It was an amazing experience for the students as they actively participated in the process of selecting and cutting fresh vegetables, and combining them to create a delicious and nutritious salad.
Through this hands-on activity, the students not only gained knowledge about the immune-boosting properties of different vegetables but also developed essential life skills such as food preparation, teamwork, and creativity. Overall, it was a successful and engaging activity that left a lasting impression on the students.
World Humanitarian Day (19.08.23)
The students of Grade 6 have indeed performed a morning assembly activity on the topic of Humanitarianism. Two students delivered speeches in both English and Hindi, emphasizing the importance of being a humanitarian. They highlighted the significance of empathy, kindness, and the need to take actions to help those in need.
Following the speeches, a skit was performed to showcase real-life scenarios where humanitarian actions play a crucial role. The skit aimed to emphasize the power of lending a helping hand, no matter how small the gesture may be. It reminded us that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s life.
To conclude the morning assembly, a popular proverb related to humanitarianism was presented. The proverb served as a reminder that being selfless and caring brings not only joy to others but also enriches our own lives.

On the commemoration of World Photography Day on August 19th, Class 4 organized a morning assembly activity to celebrate and educate their peers about the art of photography. The activity comprised various segments, starting with a role play on photography.
The students took on different roles and enacted scenarios related to photography, highlighting its significance in capturing special moments and preserving memories.
Following the role play, the students presented Tamil kavithai (poetry) dedicated to photography. They creatively expressed their thoughts and emotions about the art form through their poems, showcasing their linguistic skills and artistic talent.
The assembly then moved on to the evolution of cameras, where the students shared insightful information about the development of cameras over the years. They discussed the transition from film cameras to digital cameras and how technology has transformed the way we capture and store images. In another segment, the students showcased winning wildlife photographs. Pluto Demoted Day – 24.08.23
On August 24, the Grade 11 students of our school organized a special morning assembly program to commemorate Pluto Demoted day. Through this program, they aimed to give a brief introduction to Pluto and share its history and interesting facts with the school community.
The program began with a captivating introduction to Pluto, highlighting its significance in the field of astronomy. The students emphasized that although Pluto is no longer considered a planet, it still holds a special place in our solar system.
Next, the students delved into the history of Pluto, shedding light on its discovery and subsequent reclassification. They explained that Pluto was first discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930 and was classified as the ninth planet in our solar system for over seven decades. However, in 2006, the International Astronomical Union redefined the definition of what constitutes a planet, and Pluto no longer met the criteria.
The students shared intriguing facts about Pluto. They highlighted that Pluto is smaller than Earth’s moon and has a highly eccentric orbit. They also mentioned that Pluto has a unique composition, with a surface mainly composed of nitrogen ice. The students passionately explained that despite its reclassification, Pluto continues to fuel scientific curiosity and research.

That sounds like a fantastic morning assembly on National Sports Day! It’s great to see Grade 8 students actively participating and showcasing their talents. Nethra delivering an English speech and Naresh giving a Tamil speech shows their linguistic skills and ability to communicate effectively. The song performed by the girls of Grade 8 must have added a musical touch to the assembly.
Additionally, it’s wonderful that they took the opportunity to inform their fellow students about the details of various sports awards. This would help create awareness and appreciation for the achievements in the sports field among the student body. The Grade 7 students celebrated Raksha Bandhan day during the morning assembly. The students prepared speeches in English, Tamil, and Hindi to express their thoughts and emotions about this auspicious occasion.
During the celebration, the girls tied the sacred thread, ‘Rakhi,’ onto the wrists of the boys, symbolizing the bond of protection and love between brothers and sisters. Indian Air Force Day- 8.10.23 (11.10.23)
Grade VI students from our school performed a special morning assembly program on Indian Air Force Day, which is commemorated on 8th October every year. The program was a tribute to the Indian Air Force and its brave soldiers who have dedicated their lives to protect our nation.
The morning assembly program organized by our talented Grade VII students to commemorate International Farmers Day. They have put together an informative and entertaining program that showcases the significance of farmers and their invaluable contributions to our society.
To begin, one of our students delivered a compelling speech in English, emphasizing the vital role that farmers play in sustaining our lives. Following the speech, another student shared a thought-provoking slogan that captures the essence of International Farmers Day.
Continuing with the program, we had a student recite a touching Tamil Kavithai dedicated to farmers.
Lastly, our Grade VII students mesmerized the audience with an engaging skit that portrayed the life of a farmer. This skit not only entertained us but also shed light on the various challenges and hardships faced by farmers throughout the year. It aimed to raise awareness and encourage everyone to support and respect the farming community.
The students of Grade II from our school put up a splendid morning assembly on Global Handwashing Day, which is celebrated annually on the 15th of October. The program was a colorful display of dance performances and steps to hand wash, which were executed flawlessly by the enthusiastic students.

The Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change has recently launched a website as part of the Mission Life initiative, which aims to encourage and inspire individuals and communities to take action in protecting and preserving the environment. In line with this, the Department of Science organized a special activity focused on reducing the usage of single-use plastics.
During the activity, Grade IV students showcased their talent and knowledge on the subject. S. Divyashri delivered an impactful speech in English, raising awareness about the negative impacts of plastic bags and the importance of reducing their usage. Following that, B. Arshiya Zulekha and Suraj K. performed a role-play depicting the stark difference between using plastic bags and paper bags.
To further emphasize the need to avoid plastic, Thashvin V took a solemn pledge to completely eliminate plastics from his daily life. This gesture symbolized the commitment of the students towards the cause of reducing single-use plastics.

World Savings day celebrates on 31st October, Grade 6 performed a special morning Assembly with English Speech that teamwork can also be applied to our financial goals. In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, also known as the architect of national integration in independent India, the Department of Social Science organized a special morning assembly program on 31st October, observed as Rashtriya Ekta Divas or National Unity Day.
The program commenced with speeches in both English and Tamil, delivered by Praneeta from Grade IV. Praneeta eloquently reflected on the significance of unity and the teachings of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in promoting a united and strong nation. Following this, Sashitha, also from Grade IV, delivered a Hindi speech, emphasizing the importance of national integration and unity.
The students demonstrated their dedication to fostering unity by taking a pledge on this special day. Naresh Krishna from Grade VIII confidently recited the pledge, reaffirming his commitment to contribute towards national unity.

National Cancer awareness Day commenced on November 7th , Grade VI Performed a Special morning assembly program on this day with English speech by K.Yashna and S.Shivani. Slogan was performed by S.Sanjanan. Tamil Speech by V.Avishka and Hindi Speech by R.S.Arudharan.

It’s great that Grade XI took the initiative to educate their peers about diabetes management and its consequences. The English speeches by Deepak and Tharakeshwar must have provided valuable information about the disease. Raghul’s presentation on diabetes management would have been helpful for the audience as well. It’s important for people to understand the role of insulin, which Furrankhad explained. The slogan delivered by XI Boys must have left a lasting impact on everyone. The consequence of diabetes, as explained by Sanjeevi, would have raised awareness about the importance of prevention and management. Lastly, the questionnaire session conducted by Yazhmozhi and Varshika would have encouraged active participation and further discussion on the topic. Overall, it seems like Grade XI did a commendable job in organizing an educational and interactive program for World Diabetes Day.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is commenced on 25th Novmeber. This day holds immense significance as it serves as a reminder of the widespread issue of violence faced by women across the globe. It is a day when we come together to raise awareness and pledge our commitment to fighting against all forms of violence directed towards women.
Grade 9 performed a Special morning Assembly program. Nithyashree’s gave a powerful speech, Tanyasri recited a compelling slogan: “Break the silence, stop the violence. Together, we can make a difference.” This slogan encapsulates our shared mission to raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and take action against the prevalence of violence against women.
At our school, the Department of Science arranged a morning assembly activity centered around the theme of reducing e-waste. During the event, Nishaad Ayana from Grade XI delivered an impactful speech in English. S. Yuvasree, also from XI, enlightened the audience about the consequences of e-waste. D. Nithish, also a student in XI, shared ways to protect our environment from e-waste. R. Mithra, also from XI, led the pledge on reducing e-waste. Additionally, the boys from Grade IX elaborated on the steps that can be taken to minimize e-waste. To add a creative touch, Sonali KumarI from XI live-demonstrated the process of making a poster on reducing e-waste.
On 5th December, Grade 8 organized a special morning assembly program to celebrate World Soil Day. The program was centered around raising awareness about the importance of soil and its role in our lives.
To kick off the event, V. Harish delivered an impactful English speech. He spoke about the significance of soil conservation and how it is crucial for sustaining life on Earth. He also highlighted the various ways in which soil erosion and degradation can negatively impact agriculture and the environment. Harish’s speech motivated everyone to take action and protect our soil resources.
Following the speech, K. Subashree mesmerized the audience with a soul-stirring Tamil poem. Her verses beautifully depicted the connection between humans and the earth, emphasizing the need to safeguard our precious soil. The poem served as a reminder that we must treat our soil with respect and nurture it for the prosperity of future generations.
