SRI. N. THANGAVELU MUDALIAR MEMORIAL SENIOR LIBRARY
Our school senior & junior libraries are setup with all the present needs. Fully Air Conditioned spacious reading rooms. Colon classification is followed in Junior Library. The books were arranged in such a way that the readers can easily identify the books from the list displayed in each shelf.
3 types of registers are maintained separately for accession number based books – Stock Registers, Subject Catalogue Registers & Shelf Catalogue Registers. Accession based books were computerized in the system. Every year, the library is updated with the new books.
From Classes I to XII, library period is allotted every week to promote the reading habit in children. We have wide variety of other materials that include magazines, Puzzles, Musical & Pop-up books, Newspapers, Kids series Books, etc., Students were encouraged to utilize the books in the library by lending books from Classes V to XII.
Our Junior Library has 12,976 books & Senior library has 12,851 books and totally we have 26,000 books. Apart from that we are having more than 6000 references, specimen & guides for our students.
Senior Library
The second floor comprises of the Senior Library for classes VI to XII. More than 56 subject titles are available housing 12,849 books. The Library is open to all the members of the Senior Secondary School on all working days from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30p.m. Apart from that library period is being incorporated for classes I to XII in their weekly class time table.
Tri-lingual daily newspapers, periodicals, magazines are available for our readers to update and improve their knowledge in various fields.
Faculty members utilize the library reference materials to induce critical thinking, cognitive development and analytical thinking among the students to face the global challenges and instill in them a competitive spirit to crack the competitive examinations.
