ANNAUL REPORT – 2022 – 2023
VVNKM School is the brain child of our illustrious Correspondent, Dr. T. Sivakumar, who has over 28 years of experience in the field of education since 1994. Over the years and under his guidance our institution has grown into establishments of great repute and academic excellence.
Above all else, VVNKM is about children and young people, their learning, their needs, and being there for them when they are challenged. We are the school which is child centred. And so, all our efforts, our work and our endeavours revolve around the achievement of each student’s potential, academically, physically, socially and emotionally. We have the highest expectations for each young person in our care and, as such, it is our responsibility to do our utmost to ensure that is exactly what each of them realizes. We are also known to be a parent friendly school.
Since the inception of VELLORE VALLAL N. KRISHNASWAMY MUDALIAR SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL in the year 1985 by Shri N. Thangavelu Mudaliar, in commemoration of his brother Vallal N. Krishnaswamy Mudaliar, the school has forged higher and higher in all aspects. VVNKM School is successfully stepping into 39th year in the field of education with remarkable & extraordinary achievements.

TVSSC [Tiruvannamalai & Vellore Sahodaya School Complex] appreciated the school for the consecutive achievement of 100% result in classes X & XII and awarded the shield and certificates to the toppers.

CLASSROOMS: Technology oriented smart classes with 46 EDUCOMP Digital Boards have been installed for interactive audio-visual teaching, which makes learning purposeful and informative.
ART INTEGRATION was introduced from I to XII.
Subject enrichment activities were done by the students and teachers evaluated these as an internal assessments.
FUNCTIONS & CELEBRATIONS:
- 8th Memorial Day of Smt. K. Dhanabakkiyam Ammal was observed on 1st May 2022. Family members, staff and students paid their homage.
- On 25th June 2022, 111th birth anniversary of our founder Sri N. Krishnasamy Mudaliar was celebrated. The STUDENTS WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN SILAMBAM WORLD RECORD were honored with cash prize
- 8th International yoga day was also observed on 25th June 2022. “Yoga for Humanity” is the theme of 2022. Students had performed various Yoga Asanas.
- On 15th July 2022, the school has observed “Educational Development Day” commemorating Shri. K. Kamarajar on his 120th birth anniversary.
- On 22nd July 2022, in association with Rotary Club of Vellore Accord, The newly appointed School President, Secretary & the Office Bearers of VVNKM Interact Club took Oath.
- On 27th July 2022, recalling the yeomen services rendered to the nation, our staff members paid tribute to the Missile Man Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on his 7th Remembrance Day.
- On 15th August 2022, 75th Independence day & 37th Annual Sports day was held. VVNKM School, Vellore celebrates the Victory of India by commemorating 75 years of Independence with great rigour and patriotism. In connection with that, 10 days of activities were planned & executed in the school assembly from 1st August to 12th August 2022. The celebration also embraced to honour the winners of Intramural Sports events. OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP was bagged by Neithal team. The X & XII school toppers and the students who have secured centum were honoured with cash prize by the School management.
- On 18th August 2022, the investiture ceremony was held. The newly Nominated Leaders – President, Vice President, Admirals, Vice Admirals, Laurels & Prefects were given badges and they have taken a pledge to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.
- On 5th September 2022, we have celebrated Teachers’ day.
- On 9th September 2022, celebrated Onam festival that celebrates the end of the monsoon season and welcomes the harvest.
- Kolu celebration was held from 26th September to 4th October 2022.
- On 15th November 2022, Children’s Day was celebrated.
- On 22nd October 2022, DIWALI was celebrated jointly with Rotary Club of Vellore Accord.
- On 23rd December 2022, CHRISTMAS celebration was held.
VVNKM celebrates all National, regional and seasonal festivals.
ACCOLADES & AWARDS:
- VVNKM INSCRIBED IN WORLD RECORD
- ROCKET MODELLING: Nearly 50 of our students had participated in the DISCOVER WORLD RECORDS EVENT for displaying rocket models on 20/10/2022 organized virtually by Rathinam International school, Coimbatore. All the participants had received the world record certificate.
- Dhanshika Sri of Class 2 had performed Bharathanatyam for 9 mins and 40 sec and she had been placed in Nobel World Record.
- International Silambam Committee and Non-Olympic times has conducted Silambam Competitions in that our school students participated and been registered in Nobel Book of World Records.
- Students have participated in the following competitions and have won many certificates & medals.
- Handwriting and Essay Writing organised by Kalai Ilakkiya Mandram
- Spell Bee Competition by Humming Bird Education Ltd
- Interschool cultural event held at Vedavalli Vidhyalaya- Ranipet
- Thirukural speech competition at Venkateswara Hr. Sec. School.
- All India hope talent drawing competition
- National painting competition conducted by Indian council for child welfare.
- Students have participated in Olympiad Competitions and were awarded with gold, silver, bronze medals.
- Students were encouraged to attend all the sessions and competitions held at District Science centre, Vellore.
- Our XI students had appeared for the Talent Exam in Tamil conducted by the State Government.
- YOUNG INNOVATOR competition @ Balsam academy.
- 16 students had participated in Inter District Athletic Championship

- The Gallantry awards have been instituted by the Government of India to honor the acts of bravery and sacrifice of Armed forces conducted various project activities. 6th to 9th students participated in CBSE VEER GATHA PROJECT – EDITION 2 painting and drawing competition
- CBSE Stamp design competition under five sub themes of freedom struggle, ideas @75, Resolve @75, Actions@75 and Achievements 75 at national level.
- Poem writing, Essay writing and Story writing competition which was conducted by CBSE and all the works have been uploaded in the CBSE portal.
FIT INDIA MOVEMENT: VI TO XI students participated in FIT INDIA RUN AND FIT INDIA SCHOOL WEEK activities under FIT India movement & uploaded the same in CBSE portal.
BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARD: had organised Training programme for mentors on 23rd & 24th June 2022. Awareness campaign on 5th September 2022. Writing competition for the students to inculcate knowledge on 14th September 2022.
SPORTS
- Our school has hosted the INTER CBSE SPORTS AND GAMES TOURNAMENT on 3rd September 2022. 1696 participants had taken part in various events. 108 staff from 34 schools with 36 officials were present. This year we have recorded several participants which was very high and has been a new record for us.
- School offered exclusive extra-curricular activities to the students, trained professionals were hired to provide training in Chess, Carrom, Karate, Skating, Silambam, Bharathanatiyam.
- And special coaches were appointed to train the students in athletic & Table tennis during the school hours.
- Zumba dance is brought in this year to keep our children fit and healthy. Right from Class I to IX & XI, Zumba dance period is allotted during the school hours.
SCHOOL CLUBS: To hone latent skills in co-scholastic areas, various clubs were formed and inaugurated THE CLUB, SMS CLUB, VALLAL’S CYBER CREW CLUB, HEALTH & AE CLUB. Regular inter house activities under 14 clubs like KHELO INDIA, EAT RIGHT SCHOOL, THEATRE, AESTHETIC, BIS, TECHNO, HERITAGE, ECO & so on were conducted every week for I to VIII students.
CAREER GUIDANCE SESSION was held on 24/12/2022 for the students & the parents of classes X & XII.
ENHANCEMENT OF SKILLS IN TEACHERS: Teachers were encouraged to attend the regular online training sessions organised by CBSE and most of our teachers had completed 50 hours of training. On 18th June 2022, we have hosted CBSE Capacity Building Program under Centre Of Excellence, Chennai on the topic “ART INTEGRATION” for all our staff members.
Apart from this, staff were motivated to attend the CBSE capacity building programs.
EDUFEST: An inter school competition was organised on 19th November 2022. We have conducted 12 various competitions covering all the subjects. Around 400 students from 15 schools in & around Vellore had participated. All the winners were awarded with books and certificates.
VALLAL’S VISTA-2K23: Visualizing the talents of VVNKM students was very grandly organised on 7th January 2023. It is a Mega Exhibition where all the projects/activities of our students were exhibited.
Each department highlighted on different themes
ENGLISH department exhibited the story of Raphenzel and puppet show
TAMIL department – the essence of Ponniyin Selvan
MATHS department– Geometrical city.
SCIENCE department -the realistic portrayal of Space Station
SOCIAL department– the concept of GST & IST
AE department – Biscuit land
All the parents and the students from 15 schools had witnessed the exhibits.
DIGITALIZED ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB is set up with 25 systems, speakers, head phones in order to provide a platform for learning, practising and producing language skills through interactive lessons and communication mode of teaching.
SCIENCE LAB: Our school combines classroom teaching with laboratory experiments from primary level itself so that students are able to grasp each and every concept thoroughly.
ART ROOM: Senior and Junior AE rooms were given separately which provides enormous chances to enhance the skills of our children.
COMPUTER LAB: Had upgraded the Computer lab with 110 systems, projectors, demo rooms with centralised AC to enhance the IT skills of the students.
Apart from these, separate lab rooms were allocated for Tamil, Maths & Social to enhance their creativity skills.
LIBRARY: Junior Library for classes KG to V. Enormous collection of children’s story books are available for voracious readers. Senior Library for classes VI to XII. More than 56 subject titles are available housing 8,924 books. Library period is being incorporated for classes I to XII in their weekly class time table.
Overall collection of books in both Senior & Junior library is around 25,000.
NCC – NATIONAL CADET CORPS: Mr. Syed Rizwan Basha, our school PET staff is the ANO to train the NCC cadets. He had attended refresher course at Maharashtra.
On 21ST JUNE 2022, 15 cadets had participated in Yoga day program & on 31st October 2022, they had participated in the Unity Run organised by Tamilnadu Battalion. Institutional training was given every week by conducting NCC parade by the NCC officers from the Battalion.
SCOUTS AND GUIDE: Apart from this, students were enrolled in Bharat Scout & Guide and they have completed 4 stages. They were now preparing for the Rajapurashkar Award.
3 of our teachers had participated in basic course for Cubs & Guide section organized by Bharat Scouts & Guides, Tamilnadu from 17th to 29th September 2022 at Venkateshwara Govt Hr Sec School.
EXCURSION: As a part of the curriculum, we have organised excursion for IX to XII.
REPORT ON KIDS ZONE:
Play equipment’s – KG to II std: Play area is equipped with varieties of play things which costs around 5 lakhs spent by our management.
A kind morning greeting by staff, assembly, circle Time, Essential Practical Life, outdoor period, movie time, good bye circle time are the part of the daily routine.
The following days are celebrated in Kids Zone during assembly
HYGIENE DAY on 29th July 2022 / FLAG DAY on 12th August 2022/CHOCOLATE DAY on 14th September 2022/FOODIE DAY & SHAPES DAY on 25th November 2022.
All the above was possible with the help and commitment of the whole school community – the teachers, the parents and the pupils.
